Dr. David Christini, Ph.D and Dr. Bruce Lerman

The Foundation is very proud of its recent sizeable donation on January 20, 2006 to Cornell University/New York Presbyterian Hospital and Dr. Bruce Lerman, Chief of the Division of Cardiology and the Director of Cardiac Electrophysiology Laboratory. Also on that day The Kenny Gordon Experimental and Computational Arrhythmia Laboratory was dedicated by Dr. Lerman in the Maurice and Corinne Greenberg Division of Cardiology at the Weill Cornell Medical Center. Under Dr. Lerman's umbrella, the laboratory headed by Dr. David Christini is currently working on an alternative to this post-arrhythmia onset approach. Such an achievement would mark a significant advancement towards a fundamental shift in arrhythmia therapy. By preventing arrhythmias, rather than dangerously waiting to terminate them after they have started, this approach may one day save thousands of lives.

The Foundation is also carrying on with it's committment to Kenny's alma matter, Skidmore College. The KGF targets high school students that have the ability to thrive in a higher education environment but whose schools do not provide the support or resources neccessary to prepare them for the academic challenges of college. Three students are currently receiving full four-year scholarships to the college. In addition, we are most proud of our two students who graduated in 2005 and are continuing to thrive in their new careers.

The Foundation is also continuing to support our "Kenny's Kids" at Morry's Camp program. Morry's Camp is a year-round youth development organization that provides to each child a multi-year committment anchored by a superb residential summer camp experience. These experiences would not otherwise be available to them.

We need your support in continuing our quest to help find new insights into the causes of sudden cardiac death and new treatment for its prevention.
